How I Turned a Setback into Purpose: My Journey into a Notary Business and Beyond

Not long ago, I found myself at a difficult crossroads—something many professionals never anticipate but some of us unexpectedly face. After years of dedicated service working for the government, my career was abruptly upended. Like many others, I became a casualty of the shifting political and economic landscape. It wasn’t just the loss of a job, it was the loss of stability, routine, and the identity I had built over time.

But in that moment of uncertainty, something sparked in me: a drive to create something resilient, meaningful, and truly my own.

That’s when Gulf Coast Notary Pros was born. With a heart for service, a mind for detail, and a desire to help people in some of the most pivotal moments of their lives, I dove headfirst into Florida’s mobile and online notary world. From loan signings to elder care visits, I saw how powerful it could be to bring professionalism, compassion, and convenience to people right where they are, whether that’s their home, a hospital room, or a real estate closing table.

But I didn’t stop there.

Out of necessity and vision, I began building additional income streams, side businesses that aligned with my skills, interests, and desire to serve. I launched custom merchandise and adult gifting ventures under Crafty Creations, and I began sharing what I learned to help others build and automate their own businesses. Each move wasn’t just about money, it was about reclaiming purpose, building legacy, and turning disruption into empowerment.

This journey has been far from easy, but it’s been authentic. It’s been filled with learning, growth, and incredible connections. I’ve become not only a business owner but a trusted partner to those navigating critical moments, whether notarizing documents, mentoring new entrepreneurs, or guiding families through important paperwork. Along the way I have met some good people and great mentors, whose wisdom added to my own.

If you’re facing your own career pivot or looking to build something real from scratch, I hope my story encourages you. Sometimes, life gives us the push we didn’t want but absolutely needed.
